LUCK OF THE IRISH
We like Belfast, the motherland of one of WLTT and home to a burgeoning cultural regeneration. Some of WLTT dearest friends and family are Belfast residents so we often hear of the marvellous arts and music events hosted in the Cathedral Quarter. This week welcomes Open House music festival which WLTT will be hotfooting out of London to attend. Started as a small Irish folk music initiative the festival is now a veritable feast of American and Irish folkie music. Mumford and Sons, Seasick Steve and Wilco are just the tip of the iceberg of a glorious line up. The week will also be peppered with Traditional Irish music gigs. We're particularly excited about Sunday when Hayseed Dixie will be regaling the crowds with their country style tribute act to ACDC. The Chillifest is also a flaming hot presence on Saturday and Sunday of the festival with Cajun style super spicy food a plenty. The agonising chilli eating contests are apparently legendary. We're looking forward to washing down that "hurts so good" feeling with a cold beer in a plastic cup (likely in a traditional Irish rain shower). Luck of the Irish indeed, what a darned stellar event.
